3) How long have you been riding
Haven’t stopped since the training wheels came off. Started riding XC trails on an 80’s BMX. Once on a MTB I found the world of trials, but swiftly found air time via a shovel and digging some of Sydney’s most renowned dirt jump spots. Dirt jumps and big air have remained my #1 passion, but I’ve competed in XC, DH, Slopestyle, Enduro and now two seasons of cyclocross.
4) Favourite bike of all time and why
Tough one, I’ve had a lot of bikes. My NS dirt jump bikes have always been brilliant. After 4 months living in Whistler, my 07 Giant ReignX became like an extension of my body. It could handle the roughest of DH trails but excelled on jump trails like A-line, Dirt Merchant or Crabapple Hits. Now I design bikes myself, a few of them are pretty decent IMHO!

8) Do you prefer dogs or cats?
No discrimination until they bite wheels or native animals.
9) Why coach
Seeing people develop skills they never thought possible and using these on new trails they never knew existed so close to home is very rewarding. From simple bike control and body position to riding your nemesis trail features or breaking bad habits, these are easier with someone who has made the mistakes before you, something I didn't have in the early days.

I am keen to become a MTB instructor and guide because I love riding trails and I want to share this passion with others. I like making sure other riders can get the most out of their riding and riding in new places. My focus is on sharing skill, balance and strength techiques targeted at enabling particpants to become better at riding trail features, fast corners, tight corners, technical trail and rock gardens. At advanced levels I can teach drops offs and larger jumps. Essentially I want to help people to ride a diverse range of trails so they can be ready for anything.
